A photograph is a jot in a fiction unfolding through time, proposing a relation between camera and object, between focus/fixity/lens and the other in the scene, a relation able perhaps to produce an effect and so entailed in a drama in which an ethics of the gaze encounters an imaginary object. What is the object to the lens, the other to the subject of photography, the subject of photography to the gaze which is everywhere?

These are remarkable photographs – so interesting, clear, provocative in different ways (meaning they compel one to think about them). Thank-you so much, Judith
